Irakli Kobakhidze: Venice Commission recommendations comply with our approaches
The preliminary recommendations of the Venice Commission comply with the approaches of the ruling party as stated by the Speaker.
The preliminary document was already sent to the Parliament and after specification it will become accessible for the opposition.
“We have the preliminary document by Venice Commission and we have the commitment to send it to other subjects a well. The only fact is that we submit our comments to Venice Commission regarding the preliminary document to finalize it. The opinion has technical gaps. It will take 2-3 days and then it will become available for the opposition as well”.
The Speaker abstained from details and noted that the Venice Commission opinion complies with the approaches of ruling party including the bonus issue.
“The Venice Commission opinion and recommendations comply with the general approach we have including on bonus issue. In general, no blanket critical remark can be issued regarding bonus system. I mean that the bonus system may be clearly defined – utter limits may be set. It is our approach and it may be reflected in the final opinion by Venice Commission. This aspiration is absolutely acceptable for us as our main task is to ensure stability, though on the other hand, bonus shall not entail excessive distance from the equality principle. It is our approach and it wil be reflected in the Venice Commission opinion”.
