The first reading of the draft Constitutional law to be held after the Venice Commission plenary session

According to the Speaker, the first reading of the draft Constitutional law to be held after the Venice Commission plenary session. 

The Speaker stated that the Government takes the call by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Ms. Bridget Brink into account calling on Georgian Government to consider the Venice Commission recommendations.

“We do exactly as recommended by Ms. Brink. That’s why we postponed the I reading. We wait for the Venice Commission opinion to adopt the document with the I reading. It is exactly the task we have outlined. It is the reason we postponed the I reading. The I reading will be held after the Venice Commission plenary session in Venice on June 16. It was our principal decision and it is of utmost importance for due agreement regarding the document”.
