Irakli Kobakhidze: the task of the ruling party is to adopt an improved Constitution and it cannot be impeded with the agenda of the President or the Presidential Administration

“It is not a serious statement. Unfortunately, I have to reiterate that the President was from the very first day involved in the campaign to discredit the Commission. It was the direct impeding activity held”, - the Speaker echoed the statement by NGOs on public consideration of the draft Constitution. 

He noted that upon commencement of public considerations he has declared about the special meeting where the parties agreed on the particular destructive plan. “When public considerations were commenced, I have declared about the special meeting attended by the representative of the Presidential Administration where the particular destructive plan was agreed. Unfortunately, the Presidential Administration was the participant of this meeting. I have stated that this destructive plan would be implemented in particular manner and we all would see it implementing and the results. Particular destructive steps have been made by the certain political forces and various subjects and unfortunately, the President was involved. It is an unfortunate agenda the President was guided under”.

The task of the ruling party is to adopt an improved Constitution and it cannot be impeded with the agenda of the President or the Presidential Administration, he stated. “We have our positive agenda. Our task is to adopt an improved Constitution to be in full compliance with the fundamental principles of the Constitutional Law and to facilitate to establishment of an improved Parliamentary Republic”.
