The Parliament overrode the Presidential veto on the Constitutional Changes

The Parliament overrode the Presidential veto on the Constitutional Changes with 117 votes.

“Now, we indeed have the Constitution of European type built on the national interests ensuring the long-term democratic development of Georgia”, - the Speaker, Irakli Kobakhidze stated.

MPs did not share the motivated remarks of the President and supported the initial edition of the bills with majority of votes.

Initially, MPs voted for the bill proposed by the President supported by 8 MPs against 110.

The Parliament supported the initial edition of the draft Constitutional Law on Changes with 117 votes against 7.

The Majority overrode the veto on the draft Constitutional Law on Autonomous Republic of Adjara and supported the initial version with 117 votes.
