Irakli Kobakhidze: our commitment for the meeting remains valid

According to the Speaker, the commitment of the ruling party for the meeting with the President remains valid. “Naturally, our commitment for the meeting remains valid. We have expressed our commitment for the meeting with the President in case of his will within the Majority format. I personally also expressed my commitment to meet the President regarding the Constitutional issues, however I have received no response yet”.

The President is authorized to use the veto. “We expressed commitment. Veto is the Presidential authority and hence, it is the President who shall consider the meeting as necessary. It is his right to use veto and the holds the initiative. He shall offer the meeting if considers it expedient and if such meeting will be result-oriented. We have already expressed our commitment for the meeting and correspondingly, if the President has the will, then our response will be positive. The meeting will be held but we expect the offer. The offer shall be very certain and we shall know the time, venue and the topic of the meeting with the President. In case of the will and commitment, we have already expressed our position”.
