Irakli Kobakhidze hopes for the meeting between the President and the Parliamentary Majority

According to the Speaker, the Parliamentary Majority and the Presidential Administrative have communicated the meeting.

He noted that the meeting will be the most optimal format. 

“The meeting between the President and the Majority will be the most optimal format. The Majority offered the President to meet in this format and we hope that the meeting will be held. As I know, the Majority and the Presidential Administrative have communicated the meeting and I hope that they will agree on date and venue. The offer was made publicly and as I know, the certain Majority MPs and the representatives of the President have discussed the meeting. This communication will likely continue. I do not hold the updated information but hope that the meeting between the President and the Majority will be held”.

The Majority Leader shall lead the meeting. “When we speak about the Majority-President meeting, the Majority shall be represented by the Leader naturally. We have the formalized structure and procedures. The Majority will be represented by the Leader and hence, he shall lead the meeting of Majority with the President”.

As to the meeting with the opposition, the Speaker stated that the meeting will not be productive. “As to the common meeting, it will not productive. In general, the discussion regarding the Constitution has been accomplished. We all know it. The Parliament adopted the document after long considerations developed by the State Constitutional Commission and in the Parliamentary format. The discussions are over”.
