Irakli Kobakhidze: Constitutional Changes will be adopted with the III reading in the nearest future

“The document will be adopted with the III reading in the nearest future”, - the Speaker stated. 

According to him, the date of adoption of the draft with the III reading will soon be specified. The consultations are being held with the Venice Commission to serve as the basis for the decisions.

“As to the date of the sitting, it will be soon specified. We hold constant consultations with the Venice Commission on the Constitutional issues and the decisions will be made on hereof basis. As to the changes, we have our agenda and the changes have been adopted with two readings. We continue consideration of the document and it soon will be adopted with the III reading”.

As to the veto, the Speaker attributed it to the Presidential prerogative. “Veto is the prerogative of the President. Our prerogative is to overcome the veto and make a respective decision”.
