Irakli Kobakhidze: the Constitutional reform and the draft approved with the II reading by the Parliament confirmed that there is nothing against the President

According to the Speaker, the Constitutional reform aims at formation of an improved Parliamentary administration and the ruling party is ready for consultations and the consensus with the political parties. 

“The political parties shall have the consensus. We are absolutely open for consultations and we can hold them within this format with the political parties. This is my position.

As to anything directed against the President, particularly the Constitutional reform, we have proved with the facts and arguments that there were nothing directed against the President, namely it was concerning the Presidential elections and we have initially stated and reflected it in the Constitution that next year the Presidential elections will be held.

As to the status and the competences, we have not adopted any essential changes. The status and competences remain unchanged. Correspondingly, the Constitutional reform and and the draft approved with the II reading by the Parliament confirmed that there is nothing against the President. The Constitutional reform aims at formation of an improved Parliamentary administration”.
