The meeting of the Speaker with the EuroNest Co-Chair

The Speaker of the Parliament, visiting Strasbourg, met with the Co-Chair of EuroNest, Rebecca Harms.

The parties discussed EU-Georgia relations and future cooperation. Mrs. Harms confirmed support to EU aspiration of Georgia.

The parties touched upon ongoing Constitutional reform in Georgia.

As the Deputy Chair of Foreign Relations Committee, Dimitri Tskitishvili stated after the meeting, Western aspirations of Georgia are strongly supported by various parties in European Parliament. “It is clear that Georgia has multi-party support and naturally, we hold intensive dialogue to further enlarge our cooperation in various aspects”, - he noted.

The draft is positively estimated – “we spoke about the ongoing Constitutional reform. It is obvious that they positively estimate the process. Everyone calls on the opposition to achieve consensus to prevent ultimatums. It is also clear that the steps made by the Government are appraised and positively perceived”.

The meeting was attended by the Speaker and MPs: Tamar Khulordava and Dimitri Tskitishvili, as well as the Chief of the Speaker’s Cabinet, Nikoloz Samkharadze.
