Irakli Kobakhidze: This is a successful Process, which will successfully continue and finish in a logical way

Irakli Kobakhidze called the Spring Session successful. The first spring session of the 9^th-term Parliament finished its work today in accordance with the Parliamentary Rules of Procedure.

“During this session one of the major issues was the Constitutional Amendments, which we approved successfully with two readings. This is a successful process, which will successfully continue and finish in a logical way. We will definitely adopt this document with the third reading in autumn.

We are ready for additional consultations on what may be changed with the third reading. We are ready for such consultations and the document may be amended as well. We are open for consultations and I confirm readiness once more. Overall, the constitution will definitely be adopted in autumn. This is the promise we can make today”, - the Speaker told journalists.

According to him, the governing team is ready for consultations on constitutional amendments and the document will definitely be adopted with the third reading in autumn.

According to the Speaker, no matter what changes are introduced into the constitution, the President will still veto it.

“I am sure that no matter how we change the constitution, whatever changes we introduce, the President will still veto it – this is his declared will, therefore, we are expecting the veto during the fall session”, - Irakli Kobakhidze mentioned.
