We expect the Venice Commission final assessment to be extremely positive”, - the Vice Speaker, Tamar Chugoshvili stated.

We already know the initial opinion of the Venice Commission and the positives and remarks they have regarding the Constitutional Changes. We have many times reiterated that all important remarks expressed regarding the draft Constitutional law will be reflected in the final version. At the session, we will provide the Venice Commission with the details information about all remarks, will introduce our opinion and the extent of reflection of these remarks in the final draft. Correspondingly, we expect the final assessment of the Venice Commission to be extremely positive”.

According to her, the ruling party shares the recommendation on undistributed mandates. “Venice Commission offered three possible versions of the recommendation. One of the recommendations envisaged the upper limit of undistributed mandates – so-called bonuses. We go beyond the recommendation and establish the upper limit and relative and lower limits. Hence, we reduce bonus amount  - number of seats to be granted to the winner party”.

The Speaker, Irakli Kobakhidze and Vice Speaker, Tamar Chugoshvili visit Venice to attend the 111th plenary session.

On June 16, Venice Commission will discuss the opinion regarding the Constitutional changes.
