The Venice Commission 111th Plenary Session to discuss the draft Constitutional Law

The Speaker, Irakli Kobakhidze leaves for Venice along with the first Vice Speaker, Tamar Chugoshvili to attend the Venice Commission 111th Plenary Session on June 16-18.

The Commission is to discuss the Opinion regarding the draft Constitutional Law.

Tomorrow, Venice Commission holds the plenary session to discuss the Opinion of the Commission on the Constitutional Changes we developed. As we have initially pledged to consider all recommendations by Venice Commission, we will fully adhere to this promise. Hence, the Constitution to be voted by the Parliament will be in full compliance with European standards and will be an improved document. I assume full responsibility as all the remarks the Venice Commission expressed will be considered. As to our communication with the Commission, we have already provided the Commission with the written information. Tomorrow, we will hold additional communication and I believe that these remarks, especially the technical ones will be shared by them. Other remarks will be shared by us during the working process”, - T. Chugoshvili stated.
